Visual thinkers are sure to love this new cook-by-picture concept cookbook.
Picture Cook is a full-colour, hardcover cookbook that offers step-by-step illustrations instead of text instructions.
It features more than 50 classic dishes, ranging from omelets and lasagna to chocolate cake.
“Picture Cook distills every recipe into its most basic components, each step rendered as an enchanting line drawing. It’s recipes without reading,” according to a pitch that arrived in my inbox today.
Apparently, this even caught the eye of internationally acclaimed cookbook author Mark Bittman, who tweeted his love of the drawings. (BTW, Bittman’s How To Cook Everything cookbooks are fabulous!)
I love the following line in the pitch for this new cookbook:
“It’s certain Picture Cook will cure kitchenphobia and satisfy every tummy in it’s path. See. Make. Eat. It’s that simple.”
That’s enough to pique my interest. I’m planning to check it out.
